Poetry Reading & Wine

Join us as we welcome our friends Jake and Gary Young for this special evening of poetry and wine. We will be offering glasses of wine at our usual Thirsty Thursday price of $8. Cheese plates will also be available purchase.

Jake Young will be reading from his debut collection, American Oak.

Gary Young will read from his most recent book, That’s What I Thought.

Jake young is a Certified Specialist of Wine with the Society of Wine Educators. He received his MFA from North Carolina State University, and he is completing his PhD in English Literature with an emphasis in creative writing at the University of Missouri–Columbia. He is poetry editor for the Chicago Quarterly Review.

Gary young is a poet, artist, and translator. His many honors include the Shelley Memorial Award and the William Carlos Williams Award, both from the Poetry Society of America. His print work is represented in collections including the Museum of Modern Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and The Getty Center for the Arts. He teaches creative writing and directs the Cowell Press at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
